Dr. Stackhouse did his undergraduate studies at North Carolina State, majoring in biology and statistics. He went on to medical school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed his four years of Ophthalmology residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He then went on to complete his fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Stackhouse’s areas of expertise include general ophthalmology, complex cataract surgery, medical and surgical care of the cornea and ocular surface, corneal transplantation, and LASIK refractive surgery. He is excited to offer the latest and most advanced laser-assisted cataract surgery available and Coastal Vision Center is pleased to be the first and only office to offer this new technology in Nassau County.
Dr. Stackhouse enjoys playing soccer and spending time with his wife and two children here on Amelia Island.
